Steve Eulberg - First 50 Songs You Should Play On Mountain Dulcimer

Item Number 90629221

Regular price $18.00

Finally - a book of popular (contemporary) music for mountain dulcimer. There's not much out there for dulcimer, mostly from cost of licensing/copyright issues, and when we found this book (by the amazing Steve Eulberg) we jumped on it, and got it in stock just for you.

Of the 50 tunes, they're mostly (vast majority) in DAD tuning, although a few of the songs are DAC tuning. Of the 50, 14 make use of the 1.5 fret.

Check out the song list below, then get your copy (maybe even copies for your whole club) ordered!

Eulberg's Great song book

I just love this book with popular folk songs that I could not find dulcimer music for elsewhere. My band has 5 dulcimer players and a guitarist (plus keyboard) and we have moved from more traditional dulcimer songs to popular folk sets that our audiences just love. Before I found Steve's book, we were going through a laborious process of downloading music written for the guitar, transposing the guitar key for the dulcimer, and then writing in all the dulcimer chords plus harmony and baritone parts. This was time consuming and then we still had to test out all the chords to be sure we blended. Even after all that work, we still had no melody line - and had to rely on singers for the melody while we followed along with chords.
Steve's book has saved us a lot of work and hours. He's given all the melody notes plus chords. And it's now easy for us to write additional harmonies and baritones.
This book can be used in a group, a duo, or individually. I'm having a great time playing all the melodies by myself and then we will start adding in the other players and parts.

First Fifty Songs

I’m just starting my mountain dulcimer journey but this book looks like it will be perfect for the type of music that I would eventually like to play. It is clearly written and understandable. I’m looking forward to being able to dive into it once I have some basics figured out.

50 Songs

There is enough variety that every one will find a song at their level. I do wish that they be ordered in level of difficulty, however. Overall, excellent.

One of the best dulcimer books I've ever bought. Buy it now, you won't regret it.
