Folkcraft® Mountain Dulcimer String Set, Ball Ends (.011" .011" .013" .026"RW)
Regular price $7.95
We purchased a used, hand made dulcimer at an estate sale. Never had a dulcimer before. It was a four-stringed instrument, but was missing one string. Purchased the four string replacement set and the instrument sounds wonderful. Thank you for wonderful strings, at an affordable price and rapid delivery. Cheers!
Strings are very good. I’ve begun buying multiple sets just to have extras on hand.
This is my second set of these strings. I find them extremely good with a lot of ability to hold tune. The strings are stiffer than previous strings that I used and my right hand had to get used to depressing the strings with more force but once I got onto that I really like the strings and plan to continue using them.
I have organized and run two dulcimer clubs - one in Louisiana (The Bayou Dulcimer Club( and, currently, one in North Carolina (The Mountain High Dulcimer Club). I teach dulcimer lessons at all levels to club members as well as private lessons, Instructions include the care and maintenance of our instruments, including recognition of "dull" or "dead" sounding string sets. This year the club purchased four types of strings from Folkcraft. The quality, intonation, tone and volume are outstanding. To maximize the quality of sound for teaching, jams, performances and personal enjoyment, it is important to replace strings as they age. Towards this end, our club provides instruction on tuning and string maintenance, providing maximum voice for each instrument - these strings are excellent. Recommended.
