Nina Zanetti - Winter Variations

What a fun book! Each song's arrangements start out simple and them get more complex. Nina supplies each song with usually 3 versions, all well thought out and arranged. I'm really glad I bought this book. Nina Zanetti has definitely become one of my favorite dulcimer players and arrangers!

I'm a big fan of Nina Zanetti's arrangements, and this book is absolutely wonderful. I love how she chooses 3-4 of each carol. One can start with the more simple arrangement, and work toward the more intermediate and then advanced versions. It's so nice to be able to find a version that works for the player. I'm at the intermediate level, so find an option that works for me with each song. I also enjoy some of the carols that you don't see in every book, like "Jesus, Jesus Rest Your Head" and "The Shepherd's Star." Perfect!

I really enjoy Winter Variations arranged by Nina Zanetti. I also love to retune my dulcimer to CGC like Nina suggested. By next Christmas I should be able to play all the pieces with variations..

Winter Variations is a lovely set of arrangements by Nina Zanetti. She provides multiple versions of carols and hymns, some familiar and some that come out of her extensive knowledge of traditional music. Upper beginners would likely find challenging but satisfying versions of pieces to try, and advanced players will be able to work through all the versions. Anyone who is a fan of Nina's rich fingerpicking style and her CD "Winter's Light" may gain some perspective on how she does it from this book.

Very happy with this purchase. A great Christmas present from my wife. Lots of great tunes from Nina Zanetti for all levels of playing - I intend to purchase the CD "Winter's Light" too, as most of the tunes are on it. Nina has provided very helpful lyrics, history and playing suggestions for each tune. Great purchase.
