Herdim Pick, 3-In-1 Sampler Pack (Four Of Each Color)

They are great! I usually use the red but keep switching to the others. My instructor recommended the Herdim because "you don't hear a click" when it touches the string, and it's true!
Herdim Pick, 3-In-1 Sampler Pack (Four Of Each Color)
I've experimented with all three wrights of the Herdim picks (blue, red, yellow). The blue are too stiff for me, and while the yellow feel great to play, strum sounds in particular sound a bit thin to me. But red is just right: they sound great and full, while not being so stiff as to get in the way of rapid strumming (and work for picking too). Highly recommended!
Herdim picks are the ONLY ones I use for mountain dulcimer. When I teach, I give each student 2 Herdim picks to get them started right, and tell them where they can order them (Folkcraft)
I have been playing dulcimers tuned DAA for many years and when I started I tried many types and brands of picks. I found that the Thin Yellow Herdim Nylon Pick, 3-in-1 Style was the best one for me to play as it was easy to hold, strummed easily and sounded nice. I also play a DAD tuned dulcimer and use the Red Herdim Nylon Pick playing there.
