Folkcraft Is Going On A Cruise - Ya'll Come, Too!

March 22, 2024

Good Morning, Y'all - Happy Friday!

Today I'm going to share with you some information about a new event for me, and for Folkcraft Instruments, too. We're going on a boat!

A big boat. Really big. Folkcraft's home city of Woodburn, Indiana has a population of about 1600 people. And next February, I'll be teaching dulcimer classes on the Norwegian Epic (the aforementioned big boat). The Epic holds about 4000 passengers, plus about 1700 crew. Over three times the population of Woodburn, Indiana.

Why go on a boat (technically, I guess it is a "ship")? Because I've joined the staff of the 2025 Castaway Music Cruise! Along with Bing Futch, Guy George, and Sharrie George - and hopefully a bunch of you all, too. We'll be having classes, jams, concerts, and all kinds of Caribbean joy. We'll visit several ports and have a ton of fun.

I'll suggest that you browse the official website for all the details:

Sign up for the cruise itself now (I think it is only $125 to reserve your cabin), and mark the dates (February 22, 2025 - March 1, 2025) on your calendar. Sharrie George has negotiated some great deals/packages for our group, but Norwegian Cruise Lines has put a time limit on the discounts, so definitely sign up earlier, not later.

Dulcimer people (and ukulele, and hammered dulcimer, and pennywhistle, and...) having dinner together on the 2023 cruise. Who do YOU recognize in this photo?

Aly (my wife, as most of you know!), Jim (my dad - he's made a lot of your dulcimers) and I are all signed up for 2025. Won't you join us?
