I wasn’t sure what to expect with the wood choices, but when it arrived I was stunned at the Incredible workmanship and beauty! I play piano, clarinet, and ukulele, but new to the dulcimer, and feel that is very, very good.
I'm totally happy with my new chromatic mountain dulcimer. It looks and sounds awesome! Richard was a delight to work with and incredibly patient with all of my questions.
Very accommodating craftsmen. Nothing is too much trouble for Richard, the owner, and the finished product is superb in terms of build and tone. I will not be using anyone else in future
I couldn’t be happier. I’m a complete beginner, and Richard Ash patiently introduced me—over the phone!—to this new world. The dulcimer I bought gives me pleasure every day—it is a thing of beauty, a pleasure to hold, and its sound is exactly what I hoped for, rich, warm and mellow. Richard’s care and knowledge and superb craftsmanship suffuse the whole experience of buying a Folkcraft instrument. and creating music.
I first learned to play on a Folkcraft! Getting my 2nd ever Folkcraft in 2020 was an excellent experience. Richard was extremely helpful and customer service is second to none here. The instrument itself is quality through and through. Touching this beauty it’s obvious the handmade workmanship, detail, and extras that went into my instrument. I’ve since put in an order on a 2nd Folkcraft dulcimer and will (next year) order a custom from them. I’m happy to say that Folkcraft will be my go to instruments from now on. -Mandy
