I made my first Mountain Dulcimer in 1973. My second dulcimer in 1976. I just finished numbers three and four, (44 years later).
Thanks to Folkcraft Instruments, the items I ordered for my dulcimers look and sound great. Strings sound good and I love the abalone position dots.
I have plans for number five very soon.
I received a hand crafted dulcitar for Father's Day this year. I've been playing guitar for over 25 years and the first lesson I learned? Always have a spare pack of strings, no matter what.
Ordered these the day I got my gift and they came quickly. I normally play 11s on my electrics and I play them on my mandolin too, so they're comfortable in comparison.
But so glad I got them. The day after I received my strings in the mail? Popped my high double course string.
Not many people make ball ends for dulcimer, so good price, good shipping. Tone and quality is good and comfortable... I'll be buying more for sure, seeing I only have one spare set now. Thanks!
I bought a spare set during quarantune, but haven't had a chance to change out the first set. They still sound just fine.
Love these strings, will buy more.
