I own and play five different Folkcraft dulcimers and I prefer this one over all others. The preamp is tremendous because it can shape so many different sounds. I find a three stringer easier to to play because hard fingerings are easily hit. It sounds terrific too. It really sings. The double back really makes a difference. I recommend all Folkcraft products. Great helpful friendly service too.
I love my new red cedar dulcimer. It is truly a beautiful work of art! The color of the wood and the sun, moon and stars for sound holes are lovely and unique. I love the soft warm sound and the ease of moving around the fret board with the 27 inch scale. The 1 1/2 fret is a nice addition. I love the new sound that it adds.
My new Folkcraft has a big voice! The notes are clear and lovely. The strings are higher and thicker than what I was used to, so it has taken a week to understand what I can do now, but I am delighted with it. This is an extraordinary instrument!
I came home with a lovely new instrument to learn. Richard took the time to lead me through comparisons between a dozen dulcimers. My beautiful new dulcimer not only sounds lovely but is also beautiful to look at too. The Folkcraft staff really know what they are doing from making these handcrafted instruments to the protective custom cases. Richard also assisted me in selecting a tuner, extra strings to have on hand, and a couple of the best books to start my learning journey. 5 stars isn’t enough, I highly recommend Folkcraft Instuments.
This dulcimer has a clear, bright sound. It is easy to play and blends well with other instruments in a group. The melody, middle, and bass strings are well balanced making it a fun instrument to play.
