Carol Walker - DNA Dulcimer Ditties, Book 3

Item Number 1310203

Regular price $33.00

In Book 3, the final installment of the DNA* Trilogy, you'll find longer and more complex chord-melody arrangements, unfamiliar chord shapes, more "delicious" chords, lively rhythms, lovely legato settings that will melt your heart, right-handed fretting, two-handed tapping, and string bending. Following the style established in the the first two books, you'll continue to learn new concepts and techniques which are introduced and layered in sequentially, and presented in such a seamless manner that you'll be completely unaware of anything more than building a huge repertoire and becoming a more confident player. As always, you'll find the included CD a wonderful tool to help you master these challenging ditties. Carol Walker's dulcimer music book is 102 pages. Looking for a different level? Check out these dulcimer songs instead. All songs included are DAD Tuning.

DNA Dulcimer Ditties

Really good book for learning to play the dulcimer. The music is fresh and exciting. Love the book.

Great arrangements - and challenging!

DNA Ditties 3 - These arrangements of well-known songs offer some unique chord combinations, providing the possibility of distinctly different emotions than expected. Nothing stale here! The fingering can be quite challenging unless you follow Carol Walker's helpful tips. I love that she includes all the lyrics! The CD is a great help also, of course.

I haven't progressed beyond a handful of the songs yet, but I endeavor to become proficient at every one (playing and singing) and to apply some of her uniqueness to other songs I am working on. Her book goes everywhere with my dulcimer.

Fantastic Fun

Got this as well as the first two books and I have been loving them! The large majority of the songs I recognize, which helps while playing since I already know what the tune is supposed to sound like. The notes and suggestions on fingering some of the notes are very helpful. These books actually remind me greatly of how my piano books were set up when I was first learning how to play. The songs build on each other in difficulty without going so far ahead that you’re disheartened and no longer wanting to play. The song I’m looking forward to playing the most out of this book would have to be (Ghost) Riders in the Sky.
