Sycamore
 | | A hardwood tree found throughout North America, the sycamore typically grows to a height of 90 to 150 feet. Sycamore lumber, when quartersawn (see "Red Oak" for a description of quartersawing) has a beauty and figure that is unique to American hardwoods. Sycamore is relatively lightweight, but yet surprisingly strong, so it can function well as both a body wood and and soundboard wood. |
