2012 Dulcimer Gathering Recap (Posted by Richard Ash on 8/14/2012)
Back in April we held the first annual Dulcimer Gathering. We hired great artist/instructors, had small classes, and really enjoyed the festival. Next year's event looks to be even better, and we're hoping to see a few new faces along with all of our returning guests.
One of the most important parts of any music festival. (lunch time)
Ruth Smith and Steve Smith (instructors)
Stephen Humphries, Doug Berch, and Dan Landrum (instructors)
Instructors rode in style between the hotel and the festival

We had overhead cameras for each classroom, so the guests could see what the instructors were demonstrating
Dan Landrum during a daytime performance (each instructor got 30 minutes on stage to really show off a bit)

Group photo with both staff and guests. Part of the image got cut off, but Ruth is holding a sign that reads "wish you were here".
In 2013, the Dulcimer Gathering will be held on April 20 and April 21. Our 2013 instructors are Dan Landrum, Ruth Smith, Ken Kolodner, Mark Wade, Malcolm Dalglish, and Steve Smith.
When people think of heirloom-quality instruments, they think of Folkcraft. Here's why: Our instruments are handmade in the United States of America, not in a cheap overseas factory. Our instruments are crafted one at a time, not on an assembly line. Our instruments are made of solid woods, not out of plywood.
Folkcraft instruments are made with pride and tradition, using the same methods as our founders used in 1968. Folkcraft Instruments is a family business, with two generations of luthiers putting their skill and experience into every instrument they create.
