Grand opening concert in our new showroom (Posted by Richard Ash on 6/17/2009)
Last night we held the first ever concert in our brand new showroom! With an audience of 49, and a performance roster of 1, it was a night to remember.
About a month ago, I called just a few people - two local Folkcraft dealers, and a couple of local dulcimer players. I mentioned that the "World's Greatest Dulcimer Player" (Bing Futch) was going to be performing a concert in our showroom on June 15, and could they spread the word?
It only took about a week before we had filled all of the available seating, and were turning people away. "Sorry, folks. No more room!"
An intimate setting. You can see Bing at the upper right...
The concert was a huge success, and people had a great time. From classic dulcimer music to country tunes, from pop and rock to original works, we got to hear a great variety of music.
Thank you to everyone who attended, and thank you to Bing for putting on such a great show. Woodburn, Indiana has never before heard such fantastic musical ability. We can't wait until next summer, when we hope to have Bing back in Woodburn for an encore performance.

When people think of heirloom-quality instruments, they think of Folkcraft. Here's why: Our instruments are handmade in the United States of America, not in a cheap overseas factory. Our instruments are crafted one at a time, not on an assembly line. Our instruments are made of solid woods, not out of plywood.
Folkcraft instruments are made with pride and tradition, using the same methods as our founders used in 1968. Folkcraft Instruments is a family business, with two generations of luthiers putting their skill and experience into every instrument they create.
