Folkcraft Sponsors Key West Dulcimer Festival, Upcoming Shows (Posted by Richard Ash on 12/31/2009)
Hello, everybody - this is going to be a very quick Folkcraft Community post!
I would like to announce that Folkcraft Instruments is now an official sponsor of the Key West Dulcimer Festival, which is being held in Key West, Florida from January 28th, 2010 through January 31st, 2010.
If you're thinking about traveling to somewhere warm this winter, think Key West at the end of January. The instructor list is phenomenal! Here's a quick YouTube video about the festival:
Of course, Folkcraft will be exhibiting at the festival. We'll be bringing most of our inventory of Appalachian dulcimers, but maybe even a few of our hammered dulcimers. Be sure to stop by and say "Hi!" if you're in the area.
Earlier in January, we'll be exhibiting at the NAMM 2010 show in Anaheim, California. The truck was here yesterday to pick up our TWO PALLETS FULL of dulcimers. Some of those dulcimers (the ones we don't sell in Anaheim) will ship directly from Anaheim to Key West.
I've asked Steve and Jim (our two builders) to make up a nice big batch of higher-end dulcimers while Nick and I are in Anaheim. We'll try to get those instruments finished off in the four "Indiana" days that are between California and Florida.
When people think of heirloom-quality instruments, they think of Folkcraft. Here's why: Our instruments are handmade in the United States of America, not in a cheap overseas factory. Our instruments are crafted one at a time, not on an assembly line. Our instruments are made of solid woods, not out of plywood.
Folkcraft instruments are made with pride and tradition, using the same methods as our founders used in 1968. Folkcraft Instruments is a family business, with two generations of luthiers putting their skill and experience into every instrument they create.
