East Indian Rosewood
 | | East Indian rosewood tends to be light purple to dark purple and brown when freshly cut, but darkens over time to an almost uniform dark brown. The wood is very dense and will finish to an incredibly smooth surface. Rosewood is perfect for fingerboards, and is prized for its tone quality when used as a soundboard. The only real drawback with rosewood for any part of your instrument is the price - rosewood is getting harder and harder to find. |
