Curly Maple
 | | Curly maple comes from the same trees as the standard hard sugar maple, but it has an additional curl showing across the grain. The curl figure can be hard to see in unfinished wood, but when you get the finish on (either a light stain, or a clear finish), the curl really pops. Because of the grain pattern, curly maple will chip more easily than standard sugar maple, but it is still easy to sand to a great finish. |
