Bubinga

Bubinga Bubinga is very hard and dense with a tight grain pattern. The grain is predominantly straight, but it does often have small tight swirls. The color tends to be a dark salmon (pinkish brown) when freshly cut, but darkens to a reddish brown with exposure to air and light. Because of its tight grain pattern, bubinga makes an excellent fingerboard veneer or accent wood, but it is a little heavy to use as a primary wood for a dulcimer.
