The Folkcraft "Bow-A-Tune" psaltery is easy to play and sounds great. To produce its unique sound, draw the bow between two pins. With a 15 note scale, you can play lots of fun songs. Our bowed psaltery is handmade in the United States, and features a white ash body with a black walnut soundboard. Our psaltery comes in a package which includes the psaltery, a set of strings, a bow, a tuning key, rosin, and a padded nylon carrying bag.

Technical Notes: Our Bow-A-Tune psaltery will play a complete C major scale, using eight strings in the middle of the body. Below the C major scale, the notes G, A, and B are available. Above the C major scale, the notes D, E, F, and G are available. You could easily tune this instrument to a B scale, with notes above and below the scale, or even to a B flat major scale, with notes above and below. To tune to higher pitches, we would recommend replacing the original (.011 diameter) strings with a lighter gauge of string.
