For our "Maple Fingerboard With Veneer" option, we laminate a piece of northern cherry on to clear maple.

For the "Slots Cut" option, we have cut slots for the nut, bridge and frets so they are ready for installation. We will cut slots for 18 frets (including the 6 1/2 fret) for a total scale length of 27".

For the "Frets Installed" option, we cut the slots as in the "Slots Cut" option, and install and trim the frets. The price you see includes the installation and the fret wire.
 

About Northern Cherry: Also known as black cherry, northern cherry can be found growing in many parts of North America. The top states for cherry lumber production are Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. The northern cherry lumber that Folkcraft uses is primarily from Pennsylvania, due to the exceptional color of that state's wood.
