This beautiful rosette pattern is a tight pattern shield cross. This rosette, made of padauk which can be stained to other colors, may be used for hammered dulcimers, psalteries, and other instruments to add beauty and texture to your instrument. These rosettes are 1/8" thick and are available in both 2 3/16" diameter and 1 1/2" diameter.
About Padauk: Padauk trees are primarily found in Africa. Padauk lumber has a naturally red/orange hue to it. The color of padauk will naturally turn to a rich, vibrant brown over a period of several years. Padauk lumber machines and finishes well, and is suitable for all parts of a dulcimer.
