For our "Maple Fingerboard With Veneer" option, we laminate a piece of birdseye maple on to clear maple.

For the "Slots Cut" option, we have cut slots for the nut, bridge and frets so they are ready for installation. We will cut slots for 18 frets (including the 6 1/2 fret) for a total scale length of 27".

For the "Frets Installed" option, we cut the slots as in the "Slots Cut" option, and install and trim the frets. The price you see includes the installation and the fret wire.
 

About Birdseye Maple: Birdseye maple has a distinctive "dotted" grain pattern that everyone recognizes. Like all maples, it is hard and dense; but, because of its grain pattern it does have a tendency to chip, so be careful when routing or cutting. The birdseye pattern becomes more distinctive with finishes (even clear finishes) and over time with exposure to light.
