For our "Maple Fingerboard With Veneer" option, we laminate a piece of sycamore on to clear maple.

For the "Slots Cut" option, we have cut slots for the nut, bridge and frets so they are ready for installation. We will cut slots for 18 frets (including the 6 1/2 fret) for a total scale length of 27".

For the "Frets Installed" option, we cut the slots as in the "Slots Cut" option, and install and trim the frets. The price you see includes the installation and the fret wire.
 

About Sycamore: A hardwood tree found throughout North America, the sycamore typically grows to a height of 90 to 150 feet. Sycamore lumber, when quartersawn (see "Red Oak" for a description of quartersawing) has a beauty and figure that is unique to American hardwoods. Sycamore is relatively lightweight, but yet surprisingly strong, so it can function well as both a body wood and and soundboard wood.
