For our "Maple Fingerboard With Veneer" option, we laminate a piece of lacewood on to clear maple.

For the "Slots Cut" option, we have cut slots for the nut, bridge and frets so they are ready for installation. We will cut slots for 18 frets (including the 6 1/2 fret) for a total scale length of 27".

For the "Frets Installed" option, we cut the slots as in the "Slots Cut" option, and install and trim the frets. The price you see includes the installation and the fret wire.
 

About Lacewood: Native to Queensland, Australia, lacewood is often used as a decorative wood in dulcimer building. The hardness of lacewood makes it ideal for fingerboard veneers and other decorative uses. Lacewood bends and machines well, so it can be used for sides and backs also.
