Try customizing your own mountain dulcimer soundboard.   Quarter Sawn Red Oak Dulcimer Back/Soundboard   This quarter sawn red oak blank set includes 2 pieces of book matched quarter sawn red oak each measuring 4" x 32" (may vary by up to 1/8") for a total of 8" x 32" with a thickness of 1/8" (finished to 120 grit).   For the "Joined, Glued And Sanded" options, we have joined the edges of the two pieces, glued them together and sanded the resulting piece on both sides giving you a single book matched piece with a seam down the middle.   As the primary purpose of these boards is for creating dulcimers, we do allow defects if the defect will be outside the standard hourglass or teardrop shape of a dulcimer.
