This butternut blank set includes 2 pieces of book matched butternut each measuring 4" x 32" (may vary by up to 1/8") for a total of 8" x 32" with a thickness of 1/8" (finished to 120 grit).
For the "Joined, Glued And Sanded" options, we have joined the edges of the two pieces, glued them together and sanded the resulting piece on both sides giving you a single book matched piece with a seam down the middle.
About Butternut: Butternut is a relatively light weight hardwood that works similarly to walnut. It has a light brown color and an open grain that make it an excellent contrast to dark brown hardwoods like walnut or mahogany. Because of its light weight, butternut makes a great soundboard, but should probably not be used for high contact parts like a fingerboard or the back of a dulcimer.
