This beautiful piece of northern cherry has been shaped and cut to 22" x 8" (may vary by up to 1/8") and comes in a thickness of 1/8" (finished to 120 grit). This piece can be used as either a back or soundboard for a bowed psaltery.
About Northern Cherry: Also known as black cherry, northern cherry can be found growing in many parts of North America. The top states for cherry lumber production are Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. The northern cherry lumber that Folkcraft uses is primarily from Pennsylvania, due to the exceptional color of that state's wood.
