For our "Maple Fingerboard With Veneer" option, we laminate a piece of padauk on to clear maple.

For the "Slots Cut" option, we have cut slots for the nut, bridge and frets so they are ready for installation. We will cut slots for 18 frets (including the 6 1/2 fret) for a total scale length of 27".

For the "Frets Installed" option, we cut the slots as in the "Slots Cut" option, and install and trim the frets. The price you see includes the installation and the fret wire.
 

About Padauk: Padauk trees are primarily found in Africa. Padauk lumber has a naturally red/orange hue to it. The color of padauk will naturally turn to a rich, vibrant brown over a period of several years. Padauk lumber machines and finishes well, and is suitable for all parts of a dulcimer.
