This sugar maple blank set includes 2 pieces of book matched clear maple each measuring 4" x 32" (may vary by up to 1/8") for a total of 8" x 32" with a thickness of 1/8" (finished to 120 grit).
For the "Joined, Glued And Sanded" options, we have joined the edges of the two pieces, glued them together and sanded the resulting piece on both sides giving you a single book matched piece with a seam down the middle.
Our one-piece sugar maple back/soundboard blanks measure 7 inches by 32 inches, and are 1/8 inch thick.
About Sugar Maple: Sometimes called hard rock maple, sugar maple is native to the northeastern states of the USA, and also to the southeastern provinces of Canada. Sugar maple lumber is beautiful, durable, and stable, making it ideal for instrument making. The hardness and density of sugar maple make it an excellent material for pin blocks for hammered dulcimers.
