Folkcraft Logo Dulcimer Noter, Pyrex Glass

You were wondering why we have so many sizes of noters? Because every dulcimer player has a personal preference, and a noter hand as unique as his or her playing style. People with small hands often prefer a shorter length noter, and people with larger hands often prefer a longer noter. The diameter option is entirely preference, and we've not seen much correlation with preferred noter diameter as far as hand size goes.

All of our noters are handmade in the United States, using premium glass rod. Our noters are cut by hand, finished to remove the sharp edges, and then a Folkcraft decal is permanently melded to the glass using a unique kiln-fired process.

Our noters are available in two diameters. The small diameter noters are 10 millimeters (a bit over 3/8 inch) across. The large diameter noters are 13 millimeters (a bit over 1/2 inch) across.

In addition to the two diameters, our Folkcraft noters are available in two lengths. The shorter length is 85 millimeters (about 3 3/8 inches). The longer length is 130 millimeters (a bit over 5 inches).

Regardless of the choice you make, we're sure you'll appreciate the smooth action, the comfort of your hand, and the superb high-resonance sound you'll enjoy when you play your dulcimer with your new Folkcraft noter.

When people think of heirloom-quality instruments, they think of Folkcraft. Here's why: Our instruments are handmade in the United States of America, not in a cheap overseas factory. Our instruments are crafted one at a time, not on an assembly line. Our instruments are made of solid woods, not out of plywood.

Folkcraft instruments are made with pride and tradition, using the same methods as our founders used in 1968. Folkcraft Instruments is a family business, with two generations of luthiers putting their skill and experience into every instrument they create.
