Our Folkcraft brand hourglass dulcimer has solid black walnut back, sides, scroll head, and fingerboard. The black walnut creates a fat, mellow tone with great resonance. The fingerboard veneer, back inlay and heel cap are made from padauk, which creates subtle ringing overtones as well as protects the fingerboard from strumming scratches. All of this, coupled with a western red cedar soundboard creates a higher overtone content that allows the notes to have a 'singing' quality that will make your performance outstanding. The circle of hearts tone holes design top off this beautiful dulcimer.
