Our Folkcraft brand teardrop dulcimer has solid black walnut back, sides, scroll head, and fingerboard. By design, a teardrop dulcimer has a deeper bass sound. The black walnut creates a fat, mellow tone with great resonance. The fingerboard veneer, back inlay and heel cap are made from bubinga, which creates bright mid range as well as protects the fingerboard from strumming scratches and gives the instrument a solid feel. All of this, coupled with a western red cedar soundboard creates a higher overtone content that allows the notes to have a 'singing' quality that will make your performance outstanding. The classic "F" tone holes design makes this instrument a solid choice for all of your performances.
